In Maori, Manawa Nui conveys the meaning of Great Power or Spirit, and has also been interpreted as patience, courage, steadfastness, perseverance, readiness, and resistance against difficulties or evil. We think her name perfectly embodies Manawa Nui's strength, dependability, and endurance.

The pilothouse saloon is your personal nautical living room. Its doors to port and starboard provide a refreshing airflow, and the opening windows - appointed with Venetian blinds for privacy - allow 360-degree views of the bustle of foreign ports and exotic wildlife in isolated anchorages.
In 1941, the elegant yacht Manawa Nui was commissioned by a New Zealand lumber
baron to be created from the finest materials, including prized kauri pine.
On assignment with the U.S. Navy during World War II, she served as a submarine
patrol vessel and carried secret agents to their Pacific posts. Admiral "Bull" Halsey
sailed her as his personal yacht and Eleanor Roosevelt was a guest on board.

Air-conditioned throughout, Manawa Nui accommodates four guests in two
extremely comfortable cabins. The Master Cabin is fitted with a large
double bed while the forward cabin has two oversized twin berths. Both cabins
offer the privacy of their own ensuite heads with showers.
The safe, uncluttered decks provide a variety of seating and lounging arrangements.
The foredeck settee, unusual on a sailing vessel of this size, is a particularly
lovely spot to relax.
